Plasma Pen for Around the Eyes

If wrinkles and sagging skin are your two main eye concerns, then the Plasma Pen may be ideal for you. This device uses plasma energy to reach deep into the collagen layer of the skin to not only tighten existing collagen, but also to boost production of new collagen in the treated areas.

Plasma Pen is great for smoothing away wrinkles, tightening, and lifting of both the upper and lower eyelids. For upper eyelids, mild to moderate sagging can be greatly reduced, thus taking years off of your appearance.

No local anesthetic injections are required for this procedure; just some numbing gel for a few minutes. You’ll be comfortable throughout the procedure while the probe is placed near the skin and the plasma energy is delivered to the area. I ensure symmetrical results by creating a grid pattern on the skin to guide the treatment.

Crow’s Feet

If you have wrinkles around the eyes, injectables are a highly effective treatment. Muscle relaxers containing botulinum toxin A are ideal for temporarily paralyzing the muscles where the toxin is injected. When used around the eyes, the treated muscles are unable to move for about 3-4 months. This stops the skin from wrinkling up when certain facial expressions are made.

Botulinum toxin A can also be used to prevent new wrinkles from forming in areas that are not yet showing distinct signs of aging. Again, the way it works is by muscle paralysis. Except in this case, the muscle is kept relaxed prior to showing signs of aging. Without repetitive action in the muscle to cause the skin to wrinkle, you’ll have a much smaller chance of wrinkles developing in the area.

Laxity Around the Eyes

Dark circles and a sunken look under the eyes may be improved with dermal fillers in some cases. Fillers can last anywhere from 6 months to two years (depending on which filler brand is used).

My preferred treatments for tightening and lifting the periorbital eye area are Exilis and/or PDO threads. These treatments can revive your eye area to help you look refreshed, more awake, and more youthful.

Any of the aforementioned treatments can be used in conjunction with botulinum toxin A injections to improve your overall results. I also recommend taking care of your skin health the same way you would your body.
