Ways to Use PRP on the Face

If you want to tighten, brighten, and rejuvenate your skin, then PRP might be just what you’ve been looking for.

Ways to Use PRP on the Face

Platelet-Rich Plasma, or PRP, is a blood product made from your own blood and then used on the face to produce a more youthful glow. The following are two ways to use PRP on the face.

PRP Facials

prp facialsAlso referred to as a “Vampire Facial” or “Vampire Facelift,” a PRP facial is used in conjunction with microneedling to reach deeper skin layers that cannot be accessed through topical application alone.

Microneedling involves passing tiny needles over the surface of the skin, which produces micro-punctures in the skin. Because the device carefully makes micro-holes to the ideal depth needed, the face is completely prepped for the PRP solution.

What’s so special about the depth of the micro-punctures? The punctures are made into the layer of skin where collagen production takes place.

The tiny punctures cause the skin to respond to the micro injury that has taken place. This, in turn, prompts the body to start the healing process, which means that collagen production gets kicked into high gear.

Once the micro-punctures have been made, your platelet-rich plasma is brushed over the skin. This allows the PRP to seep into the deep layer of the skin to help boost your body’s healing response and optimize collagen production.

Fine lines are smoothed away, pore size and scarring are reduced, skin texture is improved, and a tightening effect occurs.

If you’re asking, “What do you do to look 10 or more years younger?” …a PRP facial could be an integral part of your overall aesthetic treatment plan. Dr. Aeria Chang will meet with you, evaluate each of your concerns, and then formulate a cosmetic plan that will directly address your aesthetic goals.

PRP Injections

prp faceliftOften times, a PRP facial includes injections of PRP and/or dermal fillers. PRP can be used as a natural wrinkle filler in deep lines and creases to help fortify the skin and fill in wrinkles.

Wherever PRP has been injected, the body will start to make collagen in those areas. This strengthens and builds collagen in the exact places where it is needed the most. Because of the growth properties in PRP, it can also be injected into hair follicles on the head to help regrow hair in women.

For volume loss and lift, dermal fillers with hyaluronic acid or other formulations are best. The type of filler to be used will depend on where it is injected and what your end goals are. Dr. Chang skillfully uses dermal fillers to plump the lips, fill and lift the cheeks, and create ideal facial symmetry and harmony to help you look years younger.

If you’re wondering, “How to reduce smile lines on my face?” then PRP treatments and dermal fillers can help accomplish all that and much more. In conjunction with these highly effective injectables, muscle relaxer injections such as BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used to help you look your very best at every age.

Patient Stories Dr. Chang has an eye for symmetry and aesthetics. I went in for a consultation to have fillers under my eyes. Instead I was educated on my facial anatomy. I agreed to some fillers in my forehead and cheeks instead and could not be more pleased with the outcome.
