Fillers and Injectables

Dermal fillers are injected into deep lines, creases, folds, and wrinkles. They are also highly effective in filling areas that have become sunken or hollowed such as under the eyes and in the cheeks. You can take years off your face instantly!

What Are Dermal Fillers Made Of?

In the U.S., there are a limited number of fillers that have been approved for cosmetic use. There are Hyaluronic Acid (HA) fillers like Belotero, Juvederm, and Restylane. HA is a naturally-occurring, hydrating substance in our skin that we lose with aging. Radiesse is made of calcium hydroxyapatite crystals, similar to the natural calcium in the body. Both types of fillers last about 6-12 months.

Voluma has revolutionized mid-face volume restoration. It has a unique stabilizing structure that strengthens the skin and causes subtle lifting effects. It can last up to 2 years.

What Is Involved in Filler Consultation at Beatitude?

Clients may present with deep lines/wrinkles and/or sagging on their face as a result of age-related volume loss. Often they complain of looking tired and sagging. Dr. Chang will talk through with you whether the lines can be easily filled and softened or whether you need to restore volume loss. What is Liquid Facelift?

“Liquid Facelift” refers to using combination of fillers for a lifted, fuller, and more youthful face. This is a non-surgical procedure with immediate results. There may be some swelling and potential bruising for few days. Depending on the amount of fillers injected, years can be taken off the face instantly!

How Much Do Dermal Fillers Cost?

Dermal filler injections can range from a single syringe of Juvederm $399 all the way to liquid facelift $1500-$5000. Fillers can be done in stages as well if the client wishes to restore volume more gradually or if they have budgetary considerations. All these issues will be discussed during the consultation.

What Is Involved in Dermal Filler Injections?

Dr. Chang uses a combination of potent numbing cream, nerve block, and ice to keep discomfort to minimum. There will be minimal to mild swelling depending on the product injected. Bruising is a potential complication but this can be minimized by stopping Aspirin or Ibuprofen products for one week before the injection and by taking Arnica before and after the procedure. Applying topical Arnica after the procedure can expedite bruise healing.

What Are Sculptra and Artefill?

Sculptra is a synthetic filler that takes weeks and series to see unpredictable results. With so many safe and predictable fillers, Dr. Chang sees no value in Sculptra. She also does not use the permanent filler Artefill that can have permanent consequences.

Patient Stories Dr. Chang has an eye for symmetry and aesthetics. I went in for a consultation to have fillers under my eyes. Instead I was educated on my facial anatomy. I agreed to some fillers in my forehead and cheeks instead and could not be more pleased with the outcome.
