What to expect during your Venus Viva™ treatment

Your Venus Viva™ treatment will be performed by Dr. Aeria Chang right in our office at Beatitude Aesthetic Medicine in Mission Valley. We will begin by applying a topical numbing cream to the treatment area.

Once the cream begins to anesthetize your skin, we will have you lie down in a comfortable position on the treatment table. Dr. Chang will then place the SmartScan™  hand piece against your skin’s surface to administer the Venus Viva™ treatment. You may hear a small sound and feel a bit of warmth as the radiofrequency pulse is delivered deep into your skin. This will last no more than a second before Dr. Chang then moves to the adjacent, untreated area where she will repeat the process, moving bit by bit across your skin’s surface. In this way, the entire target area will receive full strength treatment in less than 30 minutes.

Venus Viva™ is customizable. This means Dr. Chang can adjust the energy settings to design a personalized treatment plan to address the concerns of each patient. We recommend that you wait 12 hours to use any skincare products, and 24 hours before using a mineral makeup on the treatment area. After that point, any redness remaining can be easily covered with makeup.

Because there is minimal downtime and discomfort with a mild topical anesthesia, most patients resume their normal activities immediately after their Venus Viva™ treatment. It is important, however, to avoid sun exposure for the first 48 hours. After that, use sunscreen with SPF of at least 30 to protect treated areas.
