Fraxel® DUAL Laser
Fraxel technology is a highly targeted procedure that only treats the areas of skin that need it, leaving the remaining skin intact. Since it does not affect the surrounding areas, healing is accelerated. The Fraxel Dual laser does a great job of smoothing wrinkles, as well as lightening sun damage, discoloration, and melasma.
This laser skin resurfacing device has two different wavelengths in one machine that allow for greater flexibility and customization. The 1927nm wavelength is ideal for pigmentation issues and fine lines, while the 1550nm wavelength allows Dr. Chang to target deeper wrinkles and promote better skin tone and texture. The improvement will continue for several months since the laser also stimulates natural collagen production.
Dr. Chang also uses the Fraxel Dual to lighten brown spots and smooth wrinkles on the hands and chest.
How does the Fraxel® Dual Laser work?
The Fraxel Dual laser uses fractional resurfacing technology, targeting damaged skin with microscopic laser columns that penetrate deeply, resurfacing the skin so that dark spots, fine lines, and wrinkles are lightened and smoothed.
Most clients need 3-5 treatments every 2-4 weeks in order to see significant improvement.
Who is a candidate for Fraxel Dual Laser treatment?
If you have fine lines and wrinkles or discoloration on the face, neck, chest, or hands, you are potentially an excellent candidate for Fraxel laser treatment.
What can I expect from the Fraxel Dual Laser?
Dr. Chang will apply a topical cream to numb the treatment areas before passing the laser light device over the skin. You will feel a slight sensation of heat during the procedure, but cold air is also used to cool the skin. Treatment of the full face takes less than a half hour.
You will begin to see results right away, but improvement will continue even after your treatments as more collagen is produced. Your skin will be lighter, brighter, and younger looking.
What does recovery from Fraxel Dual Laser treatment require?
For the first three hours or so, your treated skin will feel similar to a sunburn. Then, there may be some swelling, redness, peeling/flaking, and/or itching for a couple of days. You can return to normal activities right away, however.
How long do the results of Fraxel Dual Laser treatment last?
The better you treat your skin, the more long-lasting your results will be. Dr. Chang will give you skin care advice to prolong your new look.
