Early treatment can minimize and even prevent acne scars from occurring. If you’ve sought treatment, but haven’t found success, come see us at Beatitude Aesthetic Medicine & Acne Center. Facials, laser, and quality at home care products may help you to find the acne relief you’ve been seeking.
What Acne Scar Treatment is Best for Me?
We offer a variety of acne scar treatments to ensure options for every patient. Dr. Chang will evaluate your skin and make recommendations based on both your skin type and the type of acne scarring you have. Dr. Chang may recommend laser treatments (like the Fraxel Laser, and SkinFinity), microneedling, or dermal fillers. Often a combination of treatment options yields the best results.
We are very excited about one of our newest offerings for acne scars: Bellafill. This dermal filler received FDA approval for treatment of acne scars earlier this year and is currently the only filler on the market approved for this skin condition. This treatment was extensively studied before its approval and is considered a safe and effective option for acne scarring in patients over 21. We are excited to offer this new treatment option here at Beatitude.
Tell Me More About Bellafill
Bellafill gives us a new option for the treatment of acne scars. This dermal filler has been FDA approved since 2006 for the treatment of nasolabial folds and has been used on thousands of patients around the world. Recently, it received approval for a new indication, acne scars, and we couldn’t be more excited to have a new option for our patients. Previously we primarily used a series of laser treatments in the treatment of acne scars, but we’ve found that for many patients, Bellafill is a superior treatment to both lasers and dermal fillers. Bellafill creates a matrix of PMMA microspheres that stimulates collagen production at the injection site, allowing your scars to fill in over time. It also provides instant results through the collagen in the actual injection. Generally 1 syringe treats about 9 scars.
The results can be stunning. In one clinical trial 90% reported satisfaction with the appearance of their acne scars at 12 months after treatment. A series of treatments are typically used to achieve optimal results.
If you’ve got acne scars, come see Dr. Chang. Treatment options are available. We can help you look your best.
