Like Juvederm®, Juvederm Voluma® is an FDA-approved dermal filler that helps you look younger without surgery or down time. Juvederm Voluma can be injected deeper into the skin, however, so that it can lift sagging skin, fill hollowed areas, and restore a youthful contour to portions of the face that have begun to flatten as a result of the aging process.
When Juvederm Voluma is administered by a skilled physician/artist like Dr. Chang, you can rest assured that no one will know you have had a cosmetic procedure. To prevent you from looking “overdone,” these injectables require the eye of a sculptor. Therefore, never trust dermal fillers to an inexperienced doctor or nurse who does not have artistic awareness.
Dr. Chang is a Platinum Plus Injector with Allergan, the maker of Juvederm, Juvederm Voluma, and Botox®. In the U.S., 5% of all Allergan physician accounts are Platinum Plus or higher. Often, these accounts have multiple injectors (doctors and nurses). Only 3% of their accounts have attained this status as a single injector like Dr. Chang. So, you can rest easy in her hands.
Juvederm Voluma injections can:
- Lift sagging skin areas without the need for surgery
- Improve the appearance of hollowed cheeks or temples
- Restore a youthful, rounder contour to flattened facial areas
Juvederm Voluma is created using a technology that makes the gel particularly smooth. For this reason, it flows into the skin easily and looks very natural.
How does Juvederm Voluma work?
Like Juvederm, Juvederm Voluma is a hyaluronic acid dermal filler. Since hyaluronic acid is already contained in your body, no allergy test is required. Juvederm Voluma improves and strengthens the structure of your skin, providing a subtle lift to areas of your face that have lost laxity and volume.
Before & After
Who is a candidate for Juvederm Voluma on the face and neck?
Juvederm Voluma is popular with both men and women. Generally, however, it is most effective on older patients with significant signs of aging.
Dr. Chang may suggest that a combination of dermal fillers or procedures will provide you with the outcome you desire.
What can I expect from Juvederm Voluma?
A fine needle is used for your Juvederm Voluma injections, which contain Lidocaine in the formula for a numbing effect. A topical anesthetic can also be used on the injection sites to ensure your comfort. An ice pack may be applied as well to keep swelling to a minimum.
Dr. Chang will administer the first injection and wait a few moments for the Lidocaine to take effect. Small amounts of Juvederm Voluma are used in a variety of areas depending on your facial structure and how you wish to look. For this reason, the skill and experience of your injector are paramount.
The results of Juvederm Voluma are immediate. Some patients do best with a touch-up appointment about a month after their first injections. This allows Dr. Chang to give you optimal facial volume that looks perfectly natural.
What does recovery from Juvederm Voluma require?
Juvederm Voluma does not require any down time. You can expect some mild bruising, swelling, and tenderness, however. You can apply ice packs and take pain medications, if necessary, for a few days. You may also notice some invisible lumps at the injection sites. All of these symptoms should resolve within a few days.
Dr. Chang will give you detailed instructions for your healing process and will explain everything you can expect in the days following Juvederm Voluma injections.
How long do the results of Juvederm Voluma last?
While everyone is an individual and results vary, Juvederm Voluma injection results have lasted as long as two years in many patients.
Dr. Chang has many years of experience administering Juvederm Voluma. Her skill and talent as an injector have allowed her to help her patients look younger fast.
