How does Isolaz work?
The Isolaz treatment has a dual function. A vacuum loosens and extracts dirt, blackheads, and excess oils from your pores. The laser light then destroys the bacteria that cause acne, helping to improve active acne, as well as prevent future breakouts.
Who is a candidate for Isolaz?
Anyone with active acne on the face and/or body can potentially benefit from Isolaz treatments. It generally works best for mild to moderate papulopustular inflammatory acne. It can be a good maintenance regimen to control acne. Dr. Chang has not found Isolaz to work well for comedonal or cystic acne. She has different procedures for these types of acne.

What can I expect from Isolaz?
No numbing cream is required before Isolaz. A warm towel may be placed over the face to open up the pores. The skin is gently suctioned into the tip and you will feel a warm sensation.
You will see some results within a day or two, but you may need subsequent treatments for optimal results – especially in order to keep acne under control. Most people receive 3-6 treatments every 1-2 weeks followed by occasional maintenance sessions.
What does recovery from Isolaz require?
Isolaz is a no down time procedure, and there are no special requirements after your treatments. You may experience some mild redness after your treatment, but this should be alleviated within an hour. Prolonged direct sun exposure should be avoided for the first 3-5 days.
How long do the results of Isolaz last?
No two patients are the same. Dr. Chang will discuss your case with you and advise how often you should have Isolaz treatments, as well as other procedures to improve and control your acne on a long-term basis.
