Shaving’s a Pain
Do you get tired of the daily shaving battle? Shaving might not be difficult, but it sure is a pain (and sometimes rather painful). Without fail that pesky hair grows right back, shave after shave. Laser hair removal is a more permanent solution. While some regrowth may occur it will be softer and lighter (and can be treated with a follow-up laser treatment if desired). With laser hair removal you can zap those hairs away and forget about them so you can finally ditch your razor for good.
Treatment Takes Time- Start Now and Be Ready for Summer
A series of treatments will be needed for the best results from laser hair removal. We start with a series of 5 treatments, each spaced 4-6 weeks apart. After this first series of treatments patients generally see a 50-90% reduction in hair. If you start now you can be ready for next summer, but if you wait, your treatments might not be completed before bikini season. Some patients will need additional treatments after the first 5. Generally lighter skin sees the quickest results while darker skin may need several additional treatments. We can treat any skin color with laser removal, but very light colored hair may not have enough pigment to respond to the treatment.
Quick and Practically Painless
Here at Beatitude we use the GentleMax laser for virtually painless hair removal. As the laser device is moved over the treatment area you may feel a slight sensation that some patients describe as similar to a snap from a rubber band. The GentleMax device uses cryogen cooling which is sprayed before the laser is fired. The procedure is quite comfortable and numbing isn’t necessary.
After treatment you can get right back to your regular activities. Some experience mild swelling or redness for a few days, but many patients report that the irritation experienced is less than with shaving or waxing.
Tans and Laser Hair Removal Don’t Mix
Laser hair removal requires keeping the treated area out of the sun before and after treatment. We generally ask patients to wait to start treatment until their tans have faded and that they avoid the sun for 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after each session. Who wants to cover up all summer long? Winter is prime time for laser hair removal.
We all want to look our best and laser hair removal can help this to happen. Many men and women with unwanted body hair are embarrassed of their excess hair, especially if it occurs in areas where hair isn’t socially accepted (men- on the back; women- upper lip, chin, etc.). Laser hair removal can dramatically reduce the appearance of unwanted hair, eliminating or drastically reducing the need to shave and eliminating embarrassment. Men can even use laser hair removal to reduce facial hair enough that daily shaving becomes almost unnecessary.
